A beautiful stir-fry udon dish that gives some comfort food vibes that let you relax after a long day of grinding away at life. As a lunch it has some invigorating flavours to help you work through to the end of the day.
Steak Udon
Ingredients
- 1 piece of sirloin steak 400g
- 6 udons
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/2 red pepper, thinly sliced
Marinade
- 2 tsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp sugar
Sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp five spice powder
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Marinade beef with Chinese cooking wine, oyster sauce, soy sauce, garlic and sugar for 30 minutes.
- Cook udon according to the instruction and drain.
- Mix sauce and set aside
- Heat a wok and add oil. Cook onion for couple minutes and then add beef. Stir fry for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add cooked udon and sauce. Mix well.
