Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp with Honey Miso Sauce

This crunchy and tasty appetizer is something that will make you hungry for more. The sauce adds a sweet and salty flavor to the coconut shrimp.

Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp with Honey Miso sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 300g of shrimps (about 14 shrimps)
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup panko
  • ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • Salt and pepper

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp miso
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp hot water

Instructions
 

  • Butterfly the shrimp by slicing from the tail to the front without cutting all the way through.  Pat dry with paper towel.  Season with salt and pepper.
  • Coat shrimp with flour, then dip the flour coated shrimp in a beaten egg.  Mix panko and unsweetened shredded coconut, transfer the coated shrimp to panko coconut.  Press panko into both sides.
  • Place breaded shrimp in the basket of the air fryer, brush with oil and air fry for 6 minutes.  Flip shrimp and cook for another 2 minutes.
  • For the sauce, use hot water to dissolve the honey, then add mayonnaise and miso.  Mix well.
