This crunchy and tasty appetizer is something that will make you hungry for more. The sauce adds a sweet and salty flavor to the coconut shrimp.
Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp with Honey Miso sauce
Ingredients
- 300g of shrimps (about 14 shrimps)
- ½ cup flour
- 1 egg
- ½ cup panko
- ½ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- Salt and pepper
Sauce
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp miso
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp hot water
Instructions
- Butterfly the shrimp by slicing from the tail to the front without cutting all the way through. Pat dry with paper towel. Season with salt and pepper.
- Coat shrimp with flour, then dip the flour coated shrimp in a beaten egg. Mix panko and unsweetened shredded coconut, transfer the coated shrimp to panko coconut. Press panko into both sides.
- Place breaded shrimp in the basket of the air fryer, brush with oil and air fry for 6 minutes. Flip shrimp and cook for another 2 minutes.
- For the sauce, use hot water to dissolve the honey, then add mayonnaise and miso. Mix well.
