Chicken Gyro with hot honey sauce

This beautiful skewer meal will impress everyone at the dinner table and shock them when they taste it. To display all the flavors, serve one side by cutting vertically and showing the layering that was developed to make this dish

I put my leftover chicken on my avocado toast.

Chicken Gyro with hot honey sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 10 pieces of chicken thigh (no bone and skinless)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sweet and hot sauce (adjust accordingly)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 5 slices of bacon, cut into half
  • 1 onion, cut into ¼ inch, 
  • 1 onion, cut into ¼ inch, on top of spike

Hot honey sauce

  • ½ cup honey (heat up in microwave for 30s)
  • ½ tbsp chilli flakes
  • ½ cup sweet and hot sauce (adjust accordingly)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven at 400°F
  • Marinade chicken with mayonnaise, hot sauce, garlic, salt, and oregano for an hour.
  • Place the vertical skewer on a baking sheet.  Arrange chicken thighs, bacon, and onion.  Rotate each piece of chicken 90 degrees.  Once you get to the top, place half of the onion on top of the spike
  • Bake for about 2 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165°F
  • Carve off and serve it with hot honey sauce
