Beef Onigiri

This new take on onigiri is super fun, its inside out with an amazing flavorful sauce permeating the whole onigiri. It’s easy and quick to make letting you enjoy the fruits of your labour immediately.

Beef Onigiri

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 tbsp rice seasoning
  • 10 sliced of thinly sliced beef

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • Mix sauce and set aside.
  • Mix cooked sushi rice with 2 tbsp rice seasoning.
  • Line the triangle onigiri mold with sliced beef.  Fill the mold with the seasoned rice.  Press the rice into the mold.  
  • Fold overhanging beef over the top of the mold.
  • Carefully remove the beef onigiri.  Pan fry for two minutes each side.  And brown all other sides.  
  • When the onigiri is ready, add sauce and spoon it on top of the onigiri.
