Air Fried Bang Bang Chicken

This sweet and spicy fried dish is a favourite in my family, the sauce especially can be used on anything else as well.

Air Fried Bang Bang Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb chicken thigh (about 10 pieces)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp five spice
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 3 cup panko (use one cup at a time)

Sauce

  • 1.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp melted honey
  • 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 3 tbsp Gochujang
  • Optional: Sesame seed for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Cut chicken into 1 inch cube
  • Marinate chicken with milk, egg, salt, five spice, ginger powder, grated ginger and let them hang out for 30 minutes.
  • Mix sauce (mayonnaise, honey, sweet chilli sauce and gochujang) and set aside.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinate.  Cover with panko.  Use one cup of panko at a time.  
  • Preheat Air Fryer at 390ºF.  Air Fried prepared chicken for 10 to 12 minutes and flip the chicken over in the middle of cooking.
  • Mix sauce with chicken and ready to serve.
